Although the wine industry first brought Crystal to Napa, her organizational, management and marketing skills led to an opportunity to join her experience as a mom of two young children and Postpartum Depression and Anxiety survivor with her passion for helping moms as a Napa Moms Board Member. Her two year role as a 2020Mom Ambassador has evolved into joining the team formally to manage the upcoming Learning Network and Peer Support Training Projects as well as volunteering as Napa’s Postpartum Support International Coordinator.
Jennifer has worked as a licensed clinical social worker in several settings, from hospital to community clinic, from public school to military, from international nonprofit to US Embassy. She has experience with community outreach and managing new parent support programs. Serving as a Napa Moms Board Member, Jennifer is a loss mom, mom of a preschooler and two labradoodles and a survivor of Postpartum Anxiety. She has a private psychotherapy practice in Napa. Megan has a passion for helping moms navigate returning to work after having children. A working mom herself of preschool-aged twins who went back to full-time winemaking when her children were 3 months old, she is keenly aware of all the logistics, planning, uncertainty and mixed emotions women feel upon returning to work. She is striving to support women through this process while empowering them with knowledge and solutions to find the best balance that specifically works for them. Megan has experienced pregnancy loss, postpartum anxiety, a partner who commutes and travels, and has navigated career moves for a better work/life balance. Megan's goal is to help women transition back to work after having kids, including understanding pumping laws, navigating childcare and coping with finding a work/life balance.
Recently relocated from Chicago in 2018 with her husband and daughter, Jenny is a psychotherapist specializing in perinatal mental health. She had a private practice in Chicago (license pending in CA) and did workshops for new moms and birth professionals as well. Before that, she was a birth and postpartum doula. Jenny is interested in making MomSquad as inclusive as possible through direct relationships with new moms.
Amalia serves as Recreation Supervisor for City of St. Helena Parks and Recreation. Amalia struggled with postpartum depression and birth trauma and wants to give support to other moms and families in our community. She was among the first women to be trained as a MomSquad mentor.
A California native, Jessica shares her Napa home with her husband and two daughters. Jessica is an elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home mama. She now shares her love for educating children through her role as a Tinkergarten leader. Aside from kiddos and teaching, she is a lifetime ballet student and loves to sew, starting Jean & Louise Handmade in 2018. She contributes handmade swag to our new mom baskets and volunteers her social worker husband for dads activity groups.
As a hospital based certified nurse midwife, Vintage High and BYU grad, mother of (soon-to-be) five kids ranging in ages from 0-12 and a previous foster mom, Brittani brings a unique perspective to MomSquad. She is passionate about hosting "birth circles": informational, inspirational, fun events where parents and parents-to-be come to talk about birth in a safe environment, without judgment.
A new parent herself, Emily has been working with infants and children as a preschool teacher, an autism intervention counselor, a pediatric nurse and a behavioral researcher. Her doctoral studies in developmental psychology emphasized the neurological aspects of social, emotional and cognitive development in infancy. All of this culminated into Little Nest Postpartum Services. Emily has a unique perspective and a deep sense of devotion and dedication to supporting the parent-infant relationship and advocating for families.
Jeni is a mother to two boys and a certified personal trainer and wellness coach with a B.A. in Psychology. She owns SHIFT by Jeni. After overcoming eating disorders and low self-worth, the birth of her first son brought new challenges that she’d never anticipated. Jeni found her new normal by prioritizing spirituality, daily exercise and nutrition. She loves helping women at all stages of their health and wellness journey get one step closer to a breakthrough.
